On November 9, 2010,the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board recognized the teachers of Chicago Math and Science Academy as a union represented by the Chicago Alliance of Charter Teachers & Staff (Chicago ACTS), an affiliate of the Illinois Federation of Teachers and American Federation of Teachers.
